The platform slip-on takes everything people loved about the Tazz and gives it a subtle update for the season ahead.
UGG has spent the last few years proving that comfort and good shoes do not have to exist in separate wardrobes. The latest example is the Tazz II, a platform slip-on that feels particularly well suited to that awkward stretch of fall when sandals are done, boots can feel like too much and getting dressed starts revolving around layers again.
At first glance, UGG has not messed with the formula too much — and that is probably a good thing.
The Tazz II keeps the suede upper, plush interior and distinctive UGGbraid around the collar that made the silhouette so recognizable in the first place. The difference is underneath. UGG has given the new version an enhanced rocker-shaped outsole designed to make movement feel easier, while the 1.75-inch platform gives it enough height to make the shoe feel more substantial than a traditional slipper. Inside, there is 10mm sheepskin lining and a matching sheepskin insole.
The result still has that unmistakable UGG coziness, but visually it lands somewhere between a clog, slipper and platform shoe.
That in-between quality is exactly what makes the Tazz II easy to work into a fall wardrobe.
With wide-leg denim, the platform gives the hem somewhere to land without disappearing underneath it. With leggings or sweats, it leans fully into the off-duty look that UGG has always done well. Add chunky socks, an oversized knit and a long coat once the temperature drops and the same shoe suddenly feels much more intentional.
There is also something appealing about a shoe that does not require much thought. Fall dressing can get complicated quickly — layers, jackets, changing temperatures — and the Tazz II is the kind of piece you can leave by the door and reach for without having to reconsider the rest of the outfit.
Chestnut is naturally the easy choice. Few colours are as immediately associated with UGG, and the warm suede works particularly well once wardrobes start shifting back toward denim, knits, leather and heavier neutral pieces. On UGG Canada, the Tazz II currently retails for $175 CAD.
The materials are also exactly what you would expect from the brand. Along with the suede upper and sheepskin interior, the Tazz II uses an EVA midsole and sugarcane EVA outsole. The signature braid and textile binding are made with recycled polyester fibres.
But the appeal of the Tazz II is less about reading through a specifications list and more about how easily it fits into everyday dressing.
UGG could have dramatically reworked one of its most recognizable newer silhouettes and called it an update. Instead, the changes are relatively restrained. The Tazz II still looks like a Tazz. It still has the exaggerated sole, rounded shape and cozy construction that made the original appealing. The adjustments simply make the platform feel a little more considered.
For Fall 2026, that may be enough.
Not every shoe needs to completely transform an outfit. Sometimes the best ones are simply the pair you keep reaching for — comfortable enough for a Sunday morning, good enough for lunch and easy enough to wear for everything in between.
The Tazz II looks ready to be exactly that.
